Thundersport GB Cadwell Park is already acclaimed by many, to be one of the most successful race events we've had so far, the letters, emails and general feedback from social media websites, is one and the same of congratulation and praise. This of course is very humbling and we thank you all dearly for your generous comments en-masse...
Ian Simpson (2 times British 600 champion, BSB Champion, 3 times TT winner & 5 times NW200 winner), who was racing with us at Cadwell Park in the RST Golden Era Superbikes, emailed us with the following & I quote:
"Just a quick note to say how much Robert Burns, my dad Bill, and myself enjoyed Cadwell. We all thought your whole operation was brilliantly organised and very friendly. After being at race meetings all my life I thought it was the best organised event I have ever seen."
Coming from a rider who has probably experienced a wider variety of race meetings than anyone we know, it means a great deal to all of us to have such a compliment.
Of course, we simply can't take all the credit for the event, Jonathon Palmer's MSV Cadwell Park managers Jon Rush & Mick Brown & their brilliant team, do a fantastic job in making the most of the Lincolnshire venue, their dedication, attention to detail and 'nothing's too much trouble' attitude is second to none.
Even 'Trixabelle' came along to check what all the fuss was about!
But most of all, it is YOU our competitors, your teams, followers and families that REALLY make the events what they have become, we realise how much effort, blood, sweat and tears it takes just to GET THERE, never mind be ready to race and provide the show you do, that put the smiles on so many faces!
I have it on good authority that another record Cadwell Park spectator Thundersport GB crowd milestone was reached and not one man Jack of them went home without an exciting story to tell...
THIS is something really special and YOU are part of it!
A swift look at the results from Cadwell, might lead a casual observer to believe there were a significant row of runaway leaders with boring races, REALITY couldn't be more different! There was close racing in absolute abundance and to write about anyone in particular and be forced to leave ANY names out of such a report would simply be a travesty, the huge crowds too were thoroughly entertained the weekend through and I implore you to watch for not only all of the 3.5 hours of Thundersport GB racing on the four shows from the event on Motors TV over the next couple of weeks (Thundersport Elite - Thundersport Plus - The Aprilia Challenge & Thundersport Naked - schedules in TV-Media button at the top of this page), but also the 5 hours plus of footage on the thundersport i-player available on the button at the top of this page to the right immediately following the TV broadcasts.
Huge congratulations to all our podium winners (see results folder) at the event and I can reveal that an incredible FIVE Thundersport GB Cadwell Park lap records that looked like they would never fall were indeed broken:
The Bike Insurer Superstock 1000 - Kingsley Ruddy
HMT Racing Thundersport 500 - Adam Shelton
RST Motorcycle Clothing Golden Era Superbike - Ian Simpson
IN Competition Aprilia RRV450 - Lewis Rollo
Motodex Performance First Pre-Nat Sport 600 - James Shaw
Rick Owen established the new Sparklight Racing Golden Era Supersport lap record too.
Congratulations also to our J&RB Racing men of the meeting cash prize winners, chosen by the orange army:-
Sunday - Adam Shelton
Monday - Lewis Rollo
Congratulations additionally to Adam Shelton on winning the £500 lap record bonus courtesy of The Bike Insurer.
Who is going to put a stop to Adams run of lap records? Ian Simpson came closest at Cadwell Park by taking a massive 1.7 seconds off the Golden Era Superbike record, but Adam managed to top that by absolutely smashing the Thundersport 500 record by 2.194 seconds.......
Next up is Oulton Park and it looks as though we will break the 300 bike entry level for the 5th consecutive event!
